Arrived in London

Bee at immigration. Got in no problem.

Then we had fish and chips at a place right across from the hotel on Shepherds Bush

Then took the tube to Big Ben

But the whole area was packed with thousands of people holding an anti-austerity protest. Tube station was packed, roads closed to vehicles, police everywhere, helicopters circling above. It was nuts!

The bobbies were still very friendly, not like in the U.S. where they want to play Rambo and wear fatigues and carry M16s. No guns on these guys, which is refreshing

Finally, we rode the London Eye, which affords spectacular views of the city

And at the end of a very long two days with only three hours' sleep it was back to the hotel to take a shower and collapse in bed
