On to Paris

We started with a lazy morning. Bee got to sleep in (til 8:30)

We took the tube to St Pancras to catch the Eurostar. Beautiful trainshed!

Dave loves all trains, and this one is double cool because ot goes under the English Channel! Turned out to be anticlimactic... you're not aware that it's about to happen, then you go in a tunnel, then you realize that you've been in the tunnel for a few minutes, and you realize that this is it. I expected an announcement or something. Still and all, it was a bucket list item for me.

Upon arrival we checked into the hotel then departed for an evening bike tour. Before the tour we ate at a sidewalk cafe

The tour runs from 7 to 11. Everyone's bike has a name. Mine was "Krusty Crab"

The tour is VERY cool - this pack of 20 people ride all thru the city, down side streets and major boulevards and even thru some heavy traffic. The weather was perfect and it was fun to cover so much ground.

The group stops for super special ice cream on the isle de cite. I had apricot and it was fantastic!

Then we rode thru the Louvre and down the right bank

Then we all took a boat cruise (at 9:30) with wine. Bee had some, but likes the kind we have at home better (and so do I). Around 10 the light starts to fade and the Eiffel Tower lights up, and it's amazing from the river

Got back at the hotel after midnight!

We have a few more pics from today, but the hotel's wifi is slow, so I'll post them in the AM
